New
- You can now use AI to auto-assign optimal times for all your unscheduled tasks for the day when you hit [Schedule] on your Agenda for today. We’ll continue to make improvements so its suggestions make the most sense, and for the end-to-end experience to be as quick as possible too. We decided to use this as an opportunity to make many other improvements to the experience of scheduling today tasks:
- UI should feel more focused with clear explanation on your options when you first visit the screen.
- When you manually or automatically assign any tasks for your day, they become selected on a tap resulting in an action toolbar appearing on top.
- You can drag/drop any of the tasks you’ve assigned a time on your day to change their reminder time.
- You can also [x] on any task that’s been dropped onto a time during the session to undo the time set and return them to the unscheduled list.
- As tasks are scheduled, you are notified of progress.
- We want you to be able to edit any piece of metadata as fast as possible from anywhere. The first delivery of this objective is now in: when you tap into an event or reminder, tapping on the time assigned will bring up a sheet with our time keyboard from where you can quickly make adjustments to the time set either by 1) drag/drop, 2) tapping on an empty hour/minute or 3) tapping on the selected time… just like in entry! You can enable this feature through the new [Reschedule] context menu option too. Expect this ability to extend to changing the date assigned too, as well as every other piece of metadata over time.
(Note: this option isn’t available for recurring events/reminders or events with attendees at the moment. Neither for any entry without a time assigned, such as all-day events or anytime tasks. Support for all of the above will arrive in the future.)
- Reminders have a new [Remove reminder] context menu option to quickly make it an anytime task for the day.
Improved
- Time keyboard should look and feel better.
- Smoother animations when dragging by the handles.
- New top toolbar from where you can change the entry type, its recurring status and alarms set.
- Appearance of new entry’s card consistent with other existing entries, including showing its title.
- Card more distinct because its entire row is highlighted.
- [Up][down] arrows to switch days changed to [left][right] so it’s easier to predict whether you’re moving back or forward in time.
- The y-offset of an entry’s time slot when set to any minute from the 46th minute onwards should be accurately positioned.
- Emojis will show on entry cards.
- Conflicts and overlaps of entries visible, and also dynamically rendered depending on changes to time of entry.
- Toggling between day and month on the Planner’s keyboard is much more clear due to a change to system UI toggle that includes descriptive labels for each.
- Any metadata whose values can have a corresponding symbol inside of entry will now have their associated filters display their symbols, whether when selecting any or viewing them inside of the Week view.
- Haptics when changing estimate of a task using vertical slider.
- [Back to top] slides in from the top on Agenda.
- [+] on the Week view will pre-fill the date for the new entry to be for anytime during the week you were on (and not the first day of the week).
- Fade effect on list when scheduling your tasks via split-screen should better distinguish the top/bottom halves of UI.
- Divider before […] on entry’s bar is a more subtle color.
- Entries are placed adjacent to each other on the Day view when their start time is less than 15 minutes from each other. This should ensure you should not unnecessarily see entries take up less space than they need to.
- Removed the [-] delete button when scheduling any tasks to avoid accidental taps, and make the focus on scheduling exclusively.
- Recurring icon for task cards right after title.
- Completed reminders will show alongside completed tasks in today’s Agenda.
